This month's new St. John's Character Council met on Wednesday, October 14, in the school library to discuss this month's special character trait, respect. Representatives from kindergarten through eighth grade enjoyed lunch together and then shared ideas generated in their classrooms.
Respect is one of the six pillars of character from the Character Counts Program, a trait which we believe is necessary in order to develop all the other traits. We demonstrate respect whenever we treat others as we wish to be treated. The Character Council members all agreed that following the Golden Rule will get us closer to being respectful people. This month's council had a lot of enthusiasm and took great ideas back to their classrooms. The Character Council for October encourages our St. John family to work hard and be persons of character! |
