Christmas Bazaar

Already it is mid September, and before we know it, it will be November 20 and we will be setting up for the Christmas Bazaar. We hope you have at least given some thought to what you will be making for your craft items. Again this year, the Christmas Bazaar Craft Committee is asking each family to donate two items per child. Please feel free to make more than the minimum suggested donation — it is your generosity that makes the Bazaar the success it has been.

Please remember that these items should be crafty items that can be sold at the bazaar for $5 to $25 dollars each. If you will be making a larger item that might sell for more than $25, please let Sondra or Cathy know so that we can have the appropriate space and adjust our
plans as needed. Please hold your donated items per child until the week of November 21 as we have only minimal storage.

If you absolutely cannot make the craft items as requested above, please contact us for possible projects that could use your time, talent, or treasure as listed below.
  1. Assist in finishing craft projects that you can take home (we will provide supplies and instructions, you provide the labor). Call Sondra or Kathy to make arrangements.
  2. Donate an amount per child that would equal the amount per child that the two craft items would bring. Money will be need to be in a separate check or cash and sent to the school office in an envelope marked "Bazaar Donation".
This will assist us in completing our projects and will help make the Bazaar an even greater success.

In addition, there are some items that you might have around your home that could be helpful for our projects. You do not need to go out and buy these things, but if you have them and are not using them, we certainly can!

Items still on our wish list — we welcome additional donations
  • Jewelry quality beads
  • Gerber "2nd foods" rectangular plastic containers with lids Jelly, Pint and quart canning jars
  • Christmas tins or mugs to fill with other items
  • Gently used craft Christmas items that can be re-furbished
  • Small leftover tile squares (1 1/2 - 2 inch square tiles)
  • White exterior house paint — partial cans are fine
  • White, red, and green spray paint

Finally, remember that there will be additional sign-up opportunities for assisting at the bazaar at the Open House. Please be generous with your help there as well, but remember that this generosity is not a replacement for the craft items, but an addition to it.

Thank you for your support of the St John's Christmas Bazaar.
